West Bengal board examinations: The Bengali paper of the Madhyamik examination has been allegedly leaked on Tuesday, the first day of the exams at Ratua constituency in Malda. The question paper began circulating on the social media platform, and after a senior board official got an image of the Bengali question on his Whatsapp number, the board lodged a police complaint against unknown persons. West Bengal board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly said that the WB board has lodged a complaint at Bidhannagar police commissionerate Cyber Crime cell after the superior official reported the matter to the board. “We lodged the police complaint as we need to find out who had snapped the photo and forwarded the same among others to create mischief,” Ganguly said.
On the news of the purported image of Bengali first question paper circulated on Whatsapp, Ganguly said “The images were captured and forwarded on Whatsapp after the exams started. By that time students were already writing their papers inside the exam centre. So there has been no leak.” He said there was no question of holding the Bengali first paper exams again. “We do not have the report of any question paper leak and the first day exams passed off easily everywhere in the West Bengal state, including the hills,” the board chairman said, as reported by news agency PTI.
