Following the announcement of Odisha HSC / Matric Exam 2022 Dates last week, the Board of Secondary Education Odisha or BSE Odisha has also shared an important update about the evaluation policy that will be followed to assess the students. As per the update, Odisha Board will follow a 3-format structure as an evaluation matrix for Class 10 students appearing for High School Certificate Exam this year. The policy states that the best of the scores among the three evaluation formats will be considered as the final score for the students.
News Confirmed by Odisha Chief Secretary
The news about BSE Odisha following a three-tier structure for evaluation and assessment of students was confirmed by the Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra in his press meet on Friday. While announcing the BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2022 Dates, Mr Mahapatra also noted that BSE Odisha will evaluate students through three formats. The decision about the three-tier evaluation structure for Class 10 students has been finalized after holding a meeting with students, parents and others.
Odisha 10th Exam 2022 Three Tier Evaluation Policy
As per the details shared, BSE Odisha will hold two Summative Assessments- SA for the evaluation of students. The Summative Assessment -1 (SA-1) was held in January 2022 while the SA-2 will be held from 29th April 2022, as per the dates announced by Odisha Chief Secretary. In addition to this, BSE Odisha will also award marks to the students on the basis of internal assessment as well. The final marks for BSE Odisha 10th Result 2022 will be awarded to the students after considering marks obtained by the student in SA1, SA 2 and internal assessment.

According to the evaluation policy, Odisha 10th Result 2022 will be compiled on the basis of SA-1, SA-2 and Internal Assessment, Under this evaluation policy, Marks obtained in SA 1 will be doubled to derive the result. On similar lines, the board will also double marks secured in the SA-2 Exam to be considered as the final result for the students, if that is the best of the three scores. In the third method i.e., the internal assessment method in which 30% marks of SA 1, 50% marks of SA 2 and 20% marks of internal assessment will be taken.
The decision to follow a three-tier evaluation policy or marking scheme for Class 10 Results of the Odisha Board was considered by the government given the hardships faced by the students due to COVID-19.
