The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced a new registration window for private candidates appearing in the July-August 2025 SSC and HSC board exams. The decision to open the registration window was taken for students who missed the previous deadline of February-March 2025 exam registration.
According to the official notice released by the Maharashtra Board, "At present, only February enrolments are considered for private students to appear for the March exams.
However, many eligible candidates fail to fill the enrolment application within the deadline, resulting in wastage of an academic year." To address this issue for the first time, the board is now allowing private enrolments for the July-August session, giving such students another chance to appear for their Class 10 and 12 exams without delaying this year's supplementary exams.
Online Registrations will Begin from April 15
The online registration process for private candidates will begin from Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and continue till Thursday, May 15, 2025. Eligible students can fill Form No. 17 online through the official website mahahsscboard.in. After filling the online form, candidates have to submit a printout of the filled application, a printout of the online fee receipt and original supporting documents to the school or junior college mentioned in the form.
Students who have passed class 5 or class 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School Board are also eligible to register as private candidates for the SSC (class 10) exam. After successful registration, candidates will receive a digital registration certificate, after which they have to fill the examination form and complete the required payment process.
The official circular states, "All schools and junior colleges are open for enrollment for private candidates appearing in SSC and HSC examinations as per the terms and conditions of the Board. Students, schools and junior colleges are advised to contact their respective Divisional Board Offices for guidance.
Detailed instructions, eligibility criteria and rule book have been made available on the Board's website. The Board has urged students and institutions to read the guidelines carefully to ensure successful enrollment and participation in the July-August 2025 examinations."
