Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has cancelled the Goa Board 12th examination scheduled for today. The Goa 12th examination today was cancelled following the passing away of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. The examination has been now rescheduled. Also, a holiday has been declared for all the schools and colleges in the state as well as government offices.
The GBSHSE board has issued a notice asking all the students to be notified. A seven day period of State mourning has been declared in Goa following the passing away of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. Parrikar was suffering from pancreatic ailment disease since February 2018. Following the news of his passing away, the state mourning was published. The holiday was also announced for all schools and institutions in the state tomorrow. The on-going Goa Board 12th exam 2019 scheduled for March 18, stands re-scheduled to March 27.
The Goa Board 12th examination 2019 - 12th class exam of Banking, computer science, logic and co-operation which was earlier programmed for March 18 would now be conducted on March 27, 2019. The other exams of the schedule would continue as per the time table. A seven-day state mourning has also been declared.

All state government offices, colleges and schools will remain closed tomorrow. The Goa government in a statement said, "as a mark of respect for the departed soul of Manohar Parrikar all the state government offices, public sector undertakings, local autonomous bodies, all educational institutions shall remain closed on March 18."
Manohar Parrikar was also former defence minister of India. He has been long suffering from the ailment and was treated at different hospitals in Goa, Mumbai as well as the US. After spending about a month in AIIMS, New Delhi, Mr. Manohar Parrikar was being treated at his residence in Panaji.
