CBSE Board Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has introduced a significant change for Class 12th Commerce Students in the upcoming Board Exams. In a recent notice, the board announced that the answer sheet for the Class 12th Accountancy exam will now follow the same format as answer books provided in other subjects. It's worth noting that previously, CBSE used to provide answer books with printed tables specifically for the Accountancy subject, but this practice has been discontinued.
The notice states, "Starting from the Board Examination in 2024, CBSE, based on feedback from various stakeholders, has decided to discontinue the use of answer books with tables provided in the subject of Accountancy.
Henceforth, regular lined answer books, similar to those provided for other subjects in Class XII, will be used for the Accountancy subject as well." This change will be implemented from this year onwards, and students appearing in the board exams in 2024 should take note of it.
In other news, CBSE has taken a stance against the Uniform Education System. The board has opposed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought direction to establish a uniform education system, with a common syllabus and curriculum in the mother language, up to Standard 12 for all students. In a counter affidavit submitted in response to the petition, CBSE has requested the dismissal of the PIL.
CBSE has emphasized the existence of a national framework that allows for flexibility and places an emphasis on local resources and cultural context, with the aim of ensuring that students can relate to the curriculum and education. CBSE has further explained that the responsibility for framing syllabi, curricula, and conducting examinations for their respective schools lies with the state governments. The implementation of a uniform board system could potentially eliminate local context, culture, and language from the education landscape.
