The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) clarified that it has not officially discussed conducting biannual board examinations with the Ministry of Education (MoE).
Certain media reports suggesting CBSE's endorsement of biannual exams for classes 10 and 12 were refuted by CBSE on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). CBSE stated that these reports are inaccurate and do not reflect any official communication with the ministry.
Earlier, media outlets had claimed that CBSE expressed the impossibility of conducting board exams twice a year during a program on the National Curriculum Framework 2023 held on June 25 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
CBSE explained that due to its global presence, conducting exams in two shifts under current policies is unfeasible, as reported by the media.
Last year, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) recommended biannual exams to provide students more opportunities to excel and achieve higher scores, aiming to reduce student workload and stress.
