The students of CBSE Class 10 appeared for their Science paper today, March 22, under the ongoing Board Examination 2018. The paper was conducted from 10:30AM to 1:30PM.
After the exam got over, we talked to a few students of class 10 who wrote their Social Science board paper toady.
We also connected to the subject teachers to discuss about the difficulty level and other important aspects of the CBSE Class 10 Social Science Question Paper 2018.
A general feedback from students and teachers about the question Paper is given below:

Format of the CBSE Class 10 Social Science Board Paper 2018
This year with the reintroduction of the mandatory board exams in class 10, a different format is being followed in board question papers. Class 10 Social Science question paper also had a different format as compared to that of the previous years’ papers.
The CBSE Class 10 Social Science Question Paper Pattern was completely according to the latest sample paper released by the CBSE board.
The CBSE class 10 Social Science board questions paper format was as follows:
The question paper consisted of total 26 questions carrying different weightage as mentioned below:

All questions were compulsory however some questions were provided with internal choices to select from.
Comparison with the previous years’ question paper pattern
As compared to the question paper format followed in the previous’ years, this year class 10 Social Science Question Paper had following changes:
- Number of questions reduced to 26 (previously it was 30)
- Total marks 80 ( previously it was 90)
Comparison with the latest CBSE sample paper
The question paper pattern followed in CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam 2018 was almost similar to the latest sample paper released by the board. Only the questions based on map were given in a different format.
- In CBSE Class 10 Social Science Sample Paper 2018, the three were three map based questions but in CBSE Class 10 Social Science Board Paper 2018 there was only one map based question (Q. No. 26) divided into sup-part.
- Question number 26 was divided into two parts 26(A) and 26(B) with both being the map based questions from History and Geography respectively.
However, the type of questions and the division of marks, all were same as described in the CBSE Class 10 Social Science Sample Paper 2018.
