Over the past five years, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has undergone significant changes in its examination pattern and placement of important subjects in date sheet. From a set first examination for English to now starting the examinations with Information Technology and Vocational Subjects, the CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet pattern has been evolving over the years. With CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2024 expected to be released soon, we look at the pattern followed by the board.
CBSE 10th 12th Date Sheet 2024 Release Date
It is important to point out at this instant that the CBSE has not released the date for the CBSE 10th 12th Date Sheet 2024 release date. It is likely to be released by the end of October or in the early part of November. Once announced, the Class 10 CBSE Board Exam date sheet will be available on cbse.gov.in. We look at past trends to set a tentative schedule.
Changing Pattern of Class 10 Exam Schedule
Furthermore, the board has made substantial revisions in the date sheets and emphasized on providing more time for difficult subjects like Mathematics. Let’s understand the timeline of change in the pattern of the date sheet over the past 5 years.
2018 Exam Schedule
In 2018, CBSE started the board exams with optional papers like Information Technology, Agriculture, and the last exam was of painting. The pattern followed that year was- one side subject, average gap of 2 days, and one main subject. Mathematics was placed as the last main subject in the date sheet.
CBSE Class 10 Syllabus and Exam Pattern
For Class 10, CBSE has increased the weightage of the competency-based questions asked. For the academic session of 2022 to 2023, these questions comprised of 30 percent of the paper. For the Board exams 2024, around 50 percent of the questions would be MCQ based. The competency-based questions will be asked in the form of MCQs, Case study-based, or source-based questions. For better understanding of the pattern, CBSE releases sample papers every year on the official website at cbse.gov.in. With this, students will get better information about the new exam pattern and marking scheme.
CBSE Board Exams To Be Conducted Twice a Year
The Ministry of Education, MoE's new curriculum framework has introduced guidelines for school education announcing two board exams in a year. As per guidelines, CBSE board exams will be conducted twice, and it will not be term-wise exams. Two separate board exams will be conducted, and students will be allowed to retain best scores. The new curriculum framework is prepared in line with the National Education Policy, NEP 2020. The board exams will be assessing understanding and achievement of competencies in the students.
