The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to start the 2025 board exams for Classes 10 and 12 on February 15, 2025. Although CBSE hasn’t officially announced this yet, a report from PTI on X suggests this date.
The exams are expected to take place from February to April. Since 2023, CBSE has been starting the exams on February 15. In 2021, the exams were held in May, and in 2022, they took place in April-May.
The exams will be in a pen-and-paper format. A separate schedule will be provided for practical exams. For Class 12, an external examiner will supervise the practicals, while Class 10 practicals will be managed by school teachers.
The date sheet for Classes 10 and 12 will include exam dates, times, and important instructions for students.
CBSE is also considering a plan to hold exams twice a year for Classes 10 and 12, but no final decision has been made yet. This change was originally set to start in the 2024-25 academic year, but it might be delayed by a year.
This new plan is part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, suggested by a committee led by former ISRO chairman K Kasturirangan.
