The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates for Class 10 and 12 practical exams on its official website. Practical exams for both classes will start on January 1, 2025, and the theory exams will begin on February 15, 2025. Winter-bound schools will hold their practical exams earlier, from November 5 to December 5, 2024.
CBSE has also provided guidelines and rules for conducting Practical Exams, Project Work, and Internal Assessments in winter-bound schools, which will be closed in January 2025.

Additionally, CBSE has shared the subject-wise marks distribution for Class 10 and 12. Schools must carefully check this and ensure they upload the correct marks for practical exams since they can’t be changed after submission.
To help schools, CBSE has released a list of subjects that includes important details like the class, subject code, subject name, and the total marks for theory, practicals, projects, and internal assessments. It also mentions the type of answer sheet to be used for theory exams. This list can be viewed online.

The official notification says, “The Practical Examinations/IA for Class X and XII and the Board's Annual Theory Exams will start from January 1, 2025, and February 15, 2025, respectively.”

Subject-wise Marks Breakdown
CBSE has stated that each subject will be out of 100 marks. These marks will be split between theory exams, practicals, projects, and internal assessments as mentioned in the given list. Theory exams are set to begin on February 15, 2025.
