The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the 10th and 12th Board Exams for 2024 will commence on February 15, 2024. After successfully concluding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC), the board is now in the process of preparing and releasing the CBSE Date Sheet 2024 for Classes X and XII. CBSE Board Exams 2024 Date Sheet
With the LOC submission completed, the board will now focus on creating the date sheet for the upcoming board examinations. Traditionally, CBSE has released the date sheet approximately 60 days or two months ahead of the examination start date.
However, recent years have seen CBSE adjusting its timelines. For instance, in 2022, the date sheet was unveiled on December 29, 2022. This year, experts anticipate an even earlier release of the date sheet.
"CBSE has significantly advanced its schedule. In the current academic year, the board issued sample papers as early as May. Additionally, LOC submission dates were moved up. It is likely that the CBSE will release the date sheet for the 2024 board exams by the end of October or in November," noted Ms. Deepa, CBSE Coordinator at a prominent school in Delhi, NCR.
Ms. Reema Rai, Principal of AIS, also acknowledged the changes in the scheduling. "The central board announced the dates for the 10th and 12th board examinations early this year. Students are already aware that the theory exams will commence on February 15. As a result, schools are preparing to begin the CBSE Practical exams in January," she explained.
The CBSE 10th and 12th Date Sheet 2024 will be made available online on the official website, cbse.gov.in. It will also be shared with respective schools once it is released. Currently, CBSE has not disclosed any tentative or confirmed dates for the date sheet's release."

For the upcoming academic year, CBSE has already declared its intention to commence the Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2024 on February 15, 2024. Each year, CBSE witnesses a massive influx of students taking the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations. In 2023, approximately 37 lakh students (21.5 lakh in Class 10 and 16 lakh in Class 12) participated in these board exams.
This number is projected to grow to around 38 lakhs this year and is expected to reach 40 lakhs in the years to come.
